Busy again!

Life has been very hectic as of late! I've found a new full time job and have taken a part time job. This accounts for less time spend posting to my blog, although I have still been busy with all different types of sewing projects.

My latest project is more of a wardrobe repurposing. I took a good spill yesterday while walking to work. I'm alright, but my capris won't mend themselves. I am right now working on turning them into Bermuda style shorts. I forgot to get a picture of the before disaster, but I did get one of the firstt leg done. Hopefully they will work!

I am working on a new quilt. I had a jelly roll kicking around but not quite enough material for a quilt top. I used the last of my Fabricland gift cards to pick out three different types and have begun a large pieced top. I only have pics of half of the top layout because I ran out of room, but you get the idea! I think it will be quite lovely and I'm excited!

Oh, and I FINALLY got all my fabric and projects organized. I found these nice little plastic containers at Home Depot for 0.87 each! Even cheaper than the dollar store!

EDIT

In addidtion to the capris I repaired today, I managed to get some work done on a sweater that was destroyed in the wash about a month ago.  I got to work one morning, only to discover that I had a huge hole in the back of my sweater.  This was an expensive (for me) work sweater and I was heartbroken.  I managed today to cut out the back and turn it into a shrug.  I have a picture of me at work in my repaired and repurposed outfit!  The sweater used to hang down past my keester, but as you can see its a cute shrug with ties.

The capris have been brought up 4" and are now just at knee length.  I'm hoping to finish a hot pink pencil skirt I'm working on tonight.  I want to wear it tomorrow with my zebra print heels, if my sore leg allows it, lol.
