Home at Last is Done at Last

While watching the game tonight with one of my friends from work, I ran off the last little bit of the binding on "Home at Last". I had done most of the work the other day and have been itching to get it done. After that, I cozied up under it while her and I watched the amazing ass whooping shut out the Jets played against the Florida Panthers. While we were watching the game, which Big D got to go to, I finished block 3 of the Farmer's Wife Sampler quilt.

I did a shout out to the members of my historical society for scrap material from the costumes everyone has made. The response was amazing and some people even gave large pieces of fabric. Eventhough I'm going for a scrap look, there should be a lot of colours matching through it which will be nice as well. I cant wait to see how all of the blocks turn out and how I'm going to lay them out. I am also very excited to do hand quilting!!

Blocks 1 and 2 on top, 3 and 4 on the bottom.
They haven't been pressed yet so they don't look their best.

Well, its off to bed for some sleep before a long and stressful day of work. At least we are close to the weekend and it will be ALLLLLLL to myself to spend it quilting and being with Big D.

Busy Busy Busy

Once again, I have taken a hiatus from posting. Not only have I been working on my own projects like "Home at Last", I have been prepping for another year of Festival du Voyageur and starting on my custom quilt orders. I finished a hood for my Metis costume and a small pouch for my belt. I have been beading it as my project while I'm in the museum.

The quilt I'm making on order is for a one year old boy for his birthday. I am on a very tight one week deadline from start to finish because it has to be shipped out of province. It needs to be bound and it will be ready to ship. Im very excited about it!

Tomorrow is a busy day of regular work and then straight to Festival for another weekend of historical French fun. I'm sure I will be resembling something like the walking dead when the weekend is done, but it is worth it!

In addition to the Gryffindor quilt, Katie's Jump Rope quilt and Scraptacular (another of my own creation) I am thinking of starting The Farmer's Wife Sampler quilt. As if I don't have enough to do already! Lol.

On that note, I'm off to bed so I am well rested for my busy upcoming weekend.

Ooh! I almost forgot!!! I'm on Instagram now! Follow me @crazycraftingcatlady ....of course!
